Greg Gordon is a producer, engineer, mixer, songwriter, and musician with a career spanning more than four decades. He started in Detroit in 1982, playing, writing, and recording in the city’s punk rock scene while also learning from the Motown and Funkadelic traditions of groove, melody, and feel. During this time, he worked with Detroit artists such as Angry Red Planet, Sleep, The Layabouts, Ortheia Barnes, and his own band, Private Angst.

In 1987, Gordon moved to New York City during the rise of hip hop and connected with Chung King Studios, where he worked with major artists including Public Enemy, LL Cool J, Run-DMC, and Sugarhill Gang. He later returned to the rock world, touring with Barkmarket and engineering records for artists such as Helmet, Cop Shoot Cop, Skeleton Key, and Enon. By the late 1990s, he was also working in Los Angeles with heavier bands like Slayer and System of a Down.

In 2004, Gordon made Los Angeles his home base, working on a wide range of projects with artists such as Oasis, The Dandy Warhols, The Oak Ridge Boys, and Nick Cave and Warren Ellis. In 2015, he moved to Pittsburgh and opened Wood Hollow Studio, where he continues to focus on producing and mixing. Over the years, Gordon has worked across punk, hip hop, rock, metal, country, alternative, and experimental music, with credits including Triggerfinger, Black Box Revelation, Beware of Darkness, Slipknot, Ghost, Airbourne, Rival Sons, Greta Van Fleet, Mirador, and Look Outside Your Window. His career is built on strong recording fundamentals, creative sound choices, and helping artists bring their music to life.
